Hilarious

In the past I have fawned over Ms. Hirsi Ali, so it was refreshing to see a clip of Bill Maher (via Hot Air) with her as a guest schooling a befuddled Steven Weber (why do actors even try?!) and Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), who gave the spiel about how Muslims and Christians were living peacefully together until the Jews came in and caused them to be all extresmist (or something along those lines). Her rebuttal is just another fine example of how calm, clear, and knowledgeable Ms. Hirsi Ali is.
However, what most entertained me was the gut-splitting funny gag at the end of segment (around 1:10) where Maher's writers spoof an Al-Jezeera "Oscar Party". Maybe it was from being tired but I couldn't stop laughing last night, even after watching it twice.

On Dancing

Last night I realized all my dance moves are basically stolen from the Breakfast Club dance sequence.

Mainly I try to emulate Molly Ringwald.

Brought to b y the letter D

D for Dumb Drew.
Drew Barrymore on movies vs. real life:

“You know, sometimes I worry,” says Drew Barrymore, “I think, Am I working in a trade that fools people, especially girls, into thinking that this is what real life is going to be like?....
I do weirdly think that life can be like that,” she adds. “I think the best thing in the world is ‘the run’ in a movie, where a man realizes that he wants the woman and he runs toward her. That run to me is like—that happens in real life. I mean, it doesn’t happen in two hours. You still have to figure out how to work through each day, but I do think there are moments in my life when it’s been like the exact epitome of a great love story.”

I know this is kind of frivolous posting to make fun of dumb celeberties, but since I can't write real posts I'm left with making myself feel better by pointing how stupid Ms. Barrymore is.

Infuriating

Haaretz is reporting that the plan to build a new bridge to the Mugrabi Gate Entrance to the Temple Mount has been suspended. It was extremely frustrating to watch the news coverage of paranoid Jew -haters throwing Molotov cocktails, concocting ridiculous stories of Zionist treachery with no proof, and the media's usual "unbias" reporting where it failed to mention that the allegation and the violent reactions had no merit.

When did we all get such thin skins? I'm so tired of Muslim over reaction and the West compliance to it. I'm so sick of it I can't even write a coherent post. Here's a better take on the matter

Numerous smaller incidents of Western self-censorship with respect Muslim sensibilities abound, while Christian and Jewish societies continue to subject themselves and their religions to withering criticism, parody, and self-doubt.

Violence and bullying, in other words, has worked. The more violent the Muslim world becomes, the more likely the West is to see the side of the "offended" party and question its own actions....

What is Israel doing that has sparked such violent threats? Some years ago, the pedestrian ramp leading up to Jerusalem's Temple Mount fell apart. Now municipal authorities plan to build a permanent ramp to maintain access to this holy site, and are conducting, as required by law, an archaeological salvage dig to make sure no artifacts are destroyed in the process.

All of this is completely outside the Temple Mount platform, and bears no relation or threat to that structure, let alone to the Aksa mosque. Why would Israel dream of undermining the Temple Mount, which is Judaism's holiest site? The claim that Israel is doing so is patently absurd, as anyone familiar with the area can immediately see.

Update: They (Israeli Housing Ministry) changed their minds. :)

What "Moderate" Muslim Countries Think

"Nothing will work with Israel except for a nuclear bomb that wipes it out of existence"

-Egyptian MP Mohammed el-Katatny

I wonder then what non-moderate Muslim countries are like.

Inventions

There are several inventions I talk about quite a lot. In no particular order these are the inventions I want:

1. Time Machine
2. Transporter
3. A car that folds into a suitcase
4. Invisible Cloak

Turns out two of the four inventions are close to being invented.

British Islamic School

The director defends the racist anti-Semitic, anti-Christan rhetoric. She claims the references in the textbooks of Jews being "monkey" and Christian being "pigs" is taken "out of context." Watch her side step all the straightforward questions.

I'm a sucker for cute and vintage things...

so when something is both adorable and old I'm pretty happy.

This is a Mary Blair Meadow Gold commercial made in the 1950's. It uses the characters from an American children's book I never heard of called, “I Can Fly” by Ruth Krauss with illustrations by Mary Blair.

I love such commercials and I'm left pondering why they all have the product with the glowing effect inserted in the middle. To me it seems like the product (in this case ice cream) was delivered by aliens and is glowing in all it radiation glory. I hope you like it.
