A while back i had a chance to watch the documentary River and Tides, a film about Andy Goldworthy. He is a Scottish artist that works with nature to create his art - stones, leaves, flowers, branches, icicles - are his canvas. The film lets you see the painstaking long process that each art project requires and tries to delve (rather unsuccessfully) into Goldworthy's mind. It gives one a deeper appreciation for each finished work. The pieces he makes are visually astounding, i was especially impressed with his use of color in nature. I guess most of his art is about the transient nature of life - but you know a lot of it is quite beautiful just to look at on its own.
