I only heard a snippet of the interview of Grant Achatz, chef behind Alinea. It's fascinating to me his approach and thought on food. I've only heard of him through kottke.org before, when he linked to the website of his newest (soon to be open) restaurant Next.
I love of the idea of taking something as mundane and ordinary as eating and turning into art. The way Chef Achatz thinks about food is inspiring. Sometimes life can seem tasteless (no pun intended) - completely without rhyme or reason - and then you learn about people like Achatz and I realize how incredibly amazing it is to be alive. To have such a passion and to make others experience it is a pretty amazing accomplishment.
