Dave Bruebeck takes his last Take Five, dies one day before his 92nd birthday. I had the privilege of seeing this legend live several times. He was amazing, his energy never giving away his advanced age. The first time I saw Bruebeck in concert was with my father, shortly after he was diagnosed with cancer and consequently died a year later.
One of the best memories I had of that time is riding in the car with just my dad, listening to Bruebeck's music and talking about going to another Bruebeck concert in the future. We never got to go but every time I hear that infectious melody I think of my father and his love of jazz and my love for him.
