I had the good fortune this autumn to visit Amsterdam and ride around the surrounding countryside. I saw beautiful flat landscapes, quiet creeks, old wind mills and sheep with different colors painted on their butts. Here was the Holland i read about from books and seen in paintings. But apparently The Netherlands are changing. With the murders of prominent politicians and movie makers unafraid to criticize and speak openly about their views of the new immigrants. The Protocols of the Yuppies of Zion had an excellent post on the phenomena of middle class Dutch leaving the country for Australia and France. Kudos to them for reporting on the story a few days before the NYT.
